For people who are: Supervisors; Mobile plant operatives; Contractors; Shotfirers; Drillers; People who should have an awareness of geotechnical hazards
To provide course members with: An awareness of geotechnical hazards who work within or close to tips and excavations
The course includes:
- Reasons, roles and responsibilities
- Geotechnical issues and an outline understanding of hazards in excavations
- Geotechnical issues and an outline understanding of hazards in tips
- Designs, inspections and working methods
The HSE has reviewed the content within this course.
The course can be tailored to suit the particular mineral deposit: hard rock, sand and gravel, opencast coal, china, ball clay, etc.
